Our walk on the St. Paul Trail.

Mary's house

This is what is thought to be a baptismal pool used by St. John. The pool is located near a building where many Muslims and Catholics believe Mary, the mother of Jesus, lived and died while John conducted his ministry in Ephesus. It was a very quiet and peaceful place. There is now a Catholic/Muslim building there where one can light candles and pray and a spicket of water from a local stream people drink as holy water. There is a fence on which people tie something old while making a wish to make it come true. At the front of the building there are crutches and a child’s foot brace. These are supposed to be from people who have been healed and left their crutches.
