Domician statue

128_2872

This is what is left of a statue of Domician. Domician was an evil emperor who demanded that the people of Ephesus build him a temple to worship him as a god. They built the temple, but two days before Domician was to arrive in Ephesus to view his temple, he was killed by two slaves. The people of Ephesus then tore down the temple, which included a giant statue, and threw the head in the sewer.
