We went to the Mediterranean beach district and stopped at this restaurant for dinner. They kept fish outside the open-air restaurant in an ice cooler, so we could pick the fish we wanted to have cooked. A waiter, who could speak English, seated us, and we asked him what he recommended. He brought a plate with two fish and two shrimp from the cooler. We tryed to asked him to split a plate between us, but we’re not sure that’s what he did. We ended up with two types of fish (a lamb fish and a grouper fish) and shrimp from the Mediterranean. At the beginning of the meal they brought us a clear strong alcohol—Raki (tasted like a spearmint schnapps) that they said was free. We also ordered two salads (a Shepherds salad and a Season salad) and two appetizers (a smoked-Salmon sushi in a sweet sauce and yogurt with cucumber and garlic). We had a basket of bread and for dessert the waiter brought us a plate of fresh fruit (apples, grapes, watermelon, plums, and light green melon) that he said was on the house. Last of course was the çay. Needless to say we ended up eating like royalty. We also ended up paying like royalty. So much so that we did not have enough money with us at the time They would not take credit cards on the weekend, so Jeff had to jog (literally) to an ATM machine with one of the waiters in tow, while Ang waited at the restaurant.
